Setting up directory niche site confusion and errors; need guidance.
I bought 2 domains to set up a niche directory site.
I then went to fiverr and found someone who said they would install a listable theme for $55. All I needed to do was give them my wordpress log in info.
So I went to wordpress.com and paid for the business package only to find out, I can't install a directory theme there.
Ugh! wordpress.com vs wordpress.org????? So I then spent the day trying to figure out the difference and then I went to wordpress.org to try and set up an account and I found this:
[I]we recommend signing up with one of our web hosting partners that offers a one-click install of WordPress or getting a free account on WordPress.com.
So it sends me back to wordpress.com which told me, through the chat feature that they're different.
I asked the person on fiverr but communication is terrible and now I'm wondering if it's safe to give them my log in info once it's set up.
Is the theme a drag and drop set up? Which I can do myself because I've built a few sites on easy platforms like wix.com and I can do that.
I'm spending so much time reading information online and forums to find out the best way to do it that it is leaving me unproductive.
Please advise
Should I just sign up through blue host, give the person my log in?
Is listable even a good directory theme? I found 3 others I like more.
Is there a drag and drop platform for dummies where I can just do it myself?
