How to Create Separate Blog in WordPress

I currently have a WordPress site, but I want to create a separate blog where the URL looks like this:

http://blog.mysite.com

NOT

http://mysite.com/blog

I don't want to change the homepage into a static page and then add a blog page as the post page in my dashboard. I just want a separate blog in the same domain.

Examples:

1) http://www.2createawebsite.com/ and http://blog.2createawebsite.com/ respectively
2) https://teamtreehouse.com/ and Treehouse Blog - Learn to code and change your life! respectively

Can this be done in my single WordPress install?

Thanks!

  • Looks like you need to create a sub domain and add Wordpress to the sub domain

    • jcwarriorwrc asking "Can this be done in my single WordPress install?" If we create sub domain we need to install 2 WordPress know?

  • You need to create separate sub domain (ex blog.mysite.com) and install the WordPress in the sub domain folder
  • Hi jcwarriorwrc !! In this site "www.2createawebsite.com" They have installed 2 different WordPress. One is in public_html and another one is in sub domain.

I think it's impossible to do in single WordPress Install.

to install in the above is called a folder. just create a new folder when installing wordpress.

    http://blog.mysite.com

to install the above, first create a sub-domain in your webhosting panel. then install wordpress on it.
