A little help please: images not showing on my site...

Hi,

I'm pretty new to html and I've run into a little problem that I'm sure someone knows the answer to.

I uploaded my html file (for one page of my site) into the public_html section of my hosting account. I also uploaded the image files into that section as well.

The text for the web page is visible (naturally), but the images don't show.

What do I need to do to fix this?

I'd greatly appreciate some direction.

Thanks

  • What's your site address?

    Have you tried uploading your images again.
  • Check your source code and see if you are referencing your images properly. They could still be pointing to a folder in your local computer...

    • Hi Bryan

      That's a favourite ploy of my wife but she is learning.

    • Yes! That was the problem! I was using NVU...

      The image location was on my computer:

      I'll look back to this and laugh. One of those newbie things huh

      Thanks to everyone who added. You guys are the best!
  • We all have our moments

    Glad to be able to help find the problem.

    If you need anything else, I'm just a website away...

    • Of course, the way to make it work both on your local hard drive and on your website, without having to change anything after you upload, is to use relative references rather than full references, like this:

      HTML Code:
      <img src="image.jpg" />
      Or, more commonly, put your images in a subfolder:

      HTML Code:
      <img src="images/image.jpg" />
