  • I've not heard of them before and will always recommend namecheap.com they offer very competitive prices and a load of features for your domains including whois privacy on all .com domains. Most of my domains are registered with namecheap only one with Hostgator that I use for my reseller account.

My advice is go with a company people recommend and I can say for sure that a lot of people here on the WF will recommend namecheap to you.

    Good Luck.
  • I haven't heard of them either, and I'm pretty "big into" domains

Personally I recommend and use Moniker. NameCheap also seem good.

GoDaddy are the biggest registrar, but I personally aren't a fan on them - have heard and seen too many horror stories.
  • thanx for your info on domain reg anyone have any idea on selling domain names?

    • Another vote for NameCheap and if you ever want to sell the domain you can easily transfer it to new ownership via namecheap (if the new owner also has an account there).

      Cheers

    • I have all sorts of ideas on selling them. Anything in particular you are looking for?
  • Stick with Namecheap. Stay away from GoDaddy!

  • I've looked at Namecheap before but was put off by the price of registering a domain WITH privacy. $9.69 + $2.88 = $12.57.

Has anybody tried Internet.bs? $6.95 including private whois.

Does anyone have any positive or negative comments about this registrar? It's the cheapest I've seen for Private Whois.

If private whois was a key requirement, does NameCheap offer any thing special over other registrars (in particular this Internet.bs guy) that makes the difference worth it?

    • I'd avoid them like the plague.

I've never heard of them (despite being a domainer) and they'll be making a very tiny profit on each registration.

      I wouldn't risk it.

  • Have used many different ones and my favorite is Moniker. Namecheap is good as well, but I like the Moniker interface better.

I also recommend staying away from GoDaddy.
