    Benefit? PSD and Web (HTML/CSS) are two entirely different formats and meant to be used in different scenarios.

    If you need to build a website using a PSD design, you have to convert the design of HTML/CSS. It's not a question of the benefit. It's whether you want to build a website using the PSD design or not!

    This question is kind of like asking "What's the benefit of using a waffle maker?"

    If you start with waffle ingredients, and you want a waffle, then the tool you need is a waffle maker.

    If you start with PSD files, and you want a website, then you need to perform a PSD to HTML conversion. It's not like you have a lot of options.

    Many websites start with just the design. That design is often made in Photoshop. You can perfect the design and make it look perfect. But when you're done, all you have is a graphic. You can't just put a graphic on your server and call it a webpage. Converting the graphic to HTML means that you can create a webpage with it.

    So the only real answer to your question is that you start with waffle ingredients and end up with a waffle.. I mean, you start with PSD files and end up with an HTML layout.
