Is there a market for developing Wordpress sites for people?

I wouldn't describe myself as an expert with Wordpress but know enough to build sites on the platform, do small customisations, and achieve incremental improvements to boost page speeds.

Will there be a market for this, or does everyone by now know how to churn out sites with WP?

Its this a market but you must find a place to sell your services like fiver or Elance Odesk etc .Then its a little hard until you build a reputation because people will choose those with best reputation

Yes, there are potential customers for that type of service.

For better pay, my advice is to avoid the freelance websites if you can, and to offer services to people who aren't catering to or part of the "internet marketing" crowd.

There will always be noobs in every single niche that ever exist for all of eternity.

So yea, there's people out there that need help setting up Wordpress sites.

There is potential, but the big challenge is you are competing against people already doing it as well as the many free themes already available.

The more unique you make your service and/or creations, the more competitive and sought after you will be.

If you're going to do something, make it stand out -make it worth your time & effort and other people's money!

Yes. There is a market for it. I have done it for years. Seek local businesses. There is great need for quality websites for them and less competition.

Some good points raised here by people. I think the part about offering something unique in terms of service will be crucial here.

Out of curiousity, how much more do local businesses tend to pay compared to customers on freelance sites?

Also, would it be a good idea to buy a multi-user license from one those premium theme sellers to provide a theme as part of site development, or should I ask the buyer to provide the theme (free or otherwise).
