Image editing issues with Fireworks - What am I doing wrong?

I know this is not a web design question, but none of the other forums fit my question, and I figured someone here can probably help me out.

All I am trying to do is make a 600x450 image that has text on it. I want to use it for Craigslist. I downloaded Fireworks 8 because I have some familiarity with it, created a white canvas that is 600x450, clicked the text button, added the text, adjusted it accordingly, optimized it, and then exported it.

I go to upload it to Craigslist, and it will not accept it. Just to make sure that it wasn't a CL issue, I tried uploading another image, and it worked fine.

What am I missing here?

    Couple of quick thoughts:

    1) CL has the ability to track images with their filters. So, it's possible the unaccepted image is associated with previously flagged ads

    2) CL has had the ability to parse text on images. So, if you are posting across multiple cities using common text on those images for email addresses or website links, Those can represent common campaign footprints through which CL can track and flag all your ads

    Yes, l have had issues in the past with PLR images. Or l legally bought the image and some software had kittens, since the original creator went overboard with protecting it, and couldn't remove it all when he sold it, (the rights) later on.

    You basically have to mess about with saving it in different formats until it behaves;

    Ping or Gif are your best bets to strip off that stuff, then turn it into the jpeg again.
