Help with site crawl

Hi everyone so I just finished a website remodel for a client. (link removed by moderator) The site I built is only 2 pages. the home and contact us page. When I ran a site audit, (using SEMrush) the results were incomplete because (this is where I'm stuck!) the former website developer/host created other pages that are not able to be "crawled" how do I get those pages deleted?? I don't even have access to them... I've never run into this. My client is losing business because of this problem. Please advise. Thanks so much.

  • If you cant delete the pages via the web platform then go in via the server and delete them there.

    • Thanks Rudi, the server is different since I've taken over the site design and hosting so I'm not sure how to access the server these pages were originally on...I guess I'll try contacting original host (?)
  • Hi RT,

Can you please tell me something more about the site? Like as is it an HTML or PHP site? Or belong to any CMS like WordPress, Wix etc.

If it's an HTML or PHP site & already hosted server so, there is the only way to delete or edit the page by the server as Cpanel dashboard.

Or if the site builds by any CMS like WordPress, so there is the only way to delete or edit the page by the WordPress dashboard.

    Hopefully, the message will help!

    • Hi Dony, yes I built my remodel using WP and elementor page builder plug in. I don't think the crawl issues are coming from what I did, but rather the pages that someone else developed and are sitting out in cyberspace somewhere still.. but if there's anyway you can tell me by looking at the site, if/what it is something I did as well I'd be grateful. what I did is sensiblelivery.com and the only pages are that and the contact-us page. nothing else should still be sitting out there. Thanks in advance!

  • I have checkout your site and sharing my opinion...

    1. The site header looking is not professional, need to customize

    2. Add a good logo about the business

    3. Add more pages, like About us, a page about services, you may add a blog page

    4. Bottom of the slider, bottom of "Book a ride" need a padding

    5. Font size needs to be the same

    6. Need proper size of gallery pictures

    7. The site hasn't footer section

    8. You may add social platform & google map
  • Totally agree with Dony! If you have the platform like HTML or PHP site, then you need Cpanel dashboard in order to delete the pages and if you have used CMS such as WP, Wix etc then you need admin dashboard of the respective CMS.

  • What theme are you using and what plugins? I have found there are certain themes and plugins that will create pages that cannot be edited without getting into the coding of that theme or plugin. bbpress is one of those plugins, and some directory plugins are infamous for creating pages that can only be modified if you have php experience.
  • RT@cbd i've read your post & i suggest you have to delete those useless pages from your client website & still you facing this issue then you can use yoast plugin which's already mention in wordpress platform.
  • Hey Rachel,

It's clean the site has only two page "Home" & "CU" I don't understand where is the third page that taking you are. But I noticed that when I click "book a ride" button, then the site goes to another website.

Is the issue of the site?

If yes, so it just a simple bug; go to your WP dashboard and select the page and edit the button link. It will be fixed. It's super easy!
  • Hi Dony,
Thank you for all your input. I was able to resolve the problem. The book a ride button is supposed to take the user to a different site. The booking portal is an external site.
