Competitor Analysis is also most important thing when we talk about optimize website in the SERP.

First of all you can find out the main keywords through Google keyword planner or any other tool. Search those keywords in Google and find out the top websites which ranked on the top.

After finding out competitors, you can analyze what kind of On-Page and Off-Page work they were doing. Implement all techniques which you competitors were doing.

We know WordPress is undoubtedly the best platform for any website. But also we know that speed matters for website, particularly when it comes to loading time. If your WordPress site is sluggish and forces users to wait for even a few seconds then you can see rising bounce rates, decreased conversions, and poor search rankings. Here below are some tips for optimize your WordPress website.
    • First step for optimizing website you should choose the Right Hosting Plan.
    • You have to use a fast WordPress theme.
    • After that you should monitor your plugins.
    • You know that plugins are one of the biggest causes of WordPress websites being slow. You should care about these plugins as well.
    • You should also reduce post revisions, drafts, spam, pingbacks and trackbacks.

    - Use Schema (Plugin or Manual both works best).
    - Use structured Data.

    Hi,
To get a good analysis of just what needs optimiztion, i tend to use Google Search Console. Alot can be said for paid services that do the analysis, But google is aware of this and will punish in rank. Generally i find the best place to start is figuring out if the problem is serverside or not.

For starters, I would strongly suggest you read this guide: https://capturly.com/blog/conversion...ly-everything/

A low conversion rate can be caused by multiple problems such as lack of filtering, wrong definition of goals, high shopping cart abandonment rate (if we think about e-commerce). Not having a well-tweaked funnel can also cause "leaks".

personally i find wordpress quite a pain to optimize. so often you open a website and you instantly know it's wordpress. not from the looks, just from how it loads.

here a few tips to make it fast:

1 make sure the website is hosted on a server near your users. if your target audience sits in india, don't use a server in the usa.

2 ideally you build your own theme from scratch and don't buy an existing theme. usually i set up nodejs, npm and webpack, so i can use es6 and sass and can compile, optimize and combine scripts and css files with webpack. then i take a plain html theme and convert it step by step into a wordpress theme, using only those elements that i really need.

3 if you cannot write your own theme, spend your time on finding a simple one. don't base your decision only on the design. fancy animations don't do much to your conversion rate. speed and the instant/snappy feeling when clicking a link do. look for simplicity in the design and clean, simple code. look at the html code and the plugins. things that for me are signs of a theme to avoid:
    - visual composer or similar drag&drop plugins
    - masonry or isotope
    - redux
    - reveal.js (way too big for what it does)
    - all javascript files are referenced in the head
    - an excessive html structure which uses way too many elements for even simple tasks like displaying an image
    - an excessive css structure with way too specific selectors, e.g. div.parent > div.child > div.grandchild > img:first-child
    - styling via inline css
    - excessive use of !important
    - outdated libraries (e.g. using bootstrap 3)
    - advertised as "all purpose theme"

4 also before buying a theme, run the demo installation through google pagespeed insight and see what it tells you.

5 if you use a 3rd party theme, after installing it go through all plugins and throw away what's not needed.

6 throw away owlcarousel or similar plugins. carousels rarely add anything to the user experience except loading time.

7 set up caching, html/css/js minification and a 3rd party cdn that delivers your content through servers in the region you are targeting.

8 secure and clean the theme/installation:
    - rename wp-login url
    - remove logged out access to rest api, remove json api, remove emoji styles, ... there are articles on the internet with a complete list of what you can throw away

9 use a plugin to optimize image uploads, use the right format (webp > jpg > png), and use lazy loading for images and deliver different sizes of images depending on the screen size.

10 if you run your own server and the file size is reasonable and the number of visitors is manageable, add instant.page

11 if your page doesn't offer much interactive content and is rather static, try to add google amp for the more static content. for each page confirm it's implemented correctly with the amp validator.

12 add an seo plugin like yoast, something to fight spam like askimet and something for security like wordfence because once your page is up and running your log files will be full with chinese ips trying to get access to your wp-admin.

13 use google pagespeed insights and tools like pingdom tools on your pages (not only the landing page) and try to fix whatever they complain about. with wordpress you probably won't be able to fix everything, but aim for a >95 score for desktop and a >86 score for mobile. that's doable with reasonable effort.

Hello Harryking1. Optimazion can be very hard, we use a plugin called "Autoptimize", https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/. Great one button plugin that made my website go from 15sec load time to 2,4 with just one click of the button. However this is only for wordpress. But other CMS must have simular plugins. Writing or Re-writing the code can be very time consuming, and it very frustrating when trying to get everything up and ready.
