hello,

i am not sure if this is the right forum but its the closest i could find. i was looking for a little assistance with wordpress. i am creating a forum and ive figured the page building process out but now when i try to build a blog to show my recent posts it goes to a recent post section with catagories that i dont use as i have menu titles for everything. if i use a static page it seems to move away from a blog and recent posts for creating 1 conversation or topic per page. any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated. my appologies if ive posted this in the wrong area or wrong site

I'm not 100% sure of what your site is or looks like. But try this and see if it works.

Open Wordpress thru your c-panel. Than try going to the category you want the post to appear in. View the category page and see if you see edit. If you do then open the edit feature, add post, then save.

Then try viewing the page again. If you see it there hit publish post. Then view again to see if it is there. If it is you are done. Sounds like you are having issues with the Gutenberg editor that was rolled out in late 2018. Hope this helps and did a good enough job explaining it to you.

Why don't you try some professional theme of your choice? like ThemeForest you can find already created awesome themes. Just edit it according to your requirements or you can contact theme developer.

    All the best

If I get it right what you are trying to say & accomplish, you have to modify the theme to show posts with desired tags or categories (or just any preferences) in your blog section or whatever you call. It's not a click-and-done method, unless you can find some relevant plugin in the wordPress.org repository.
