Plesk Web Presence Builder and Windows Shared, Hostgator issues

Ok, after biting the bullet l went for the plesk, windows shared option,....and then transferred one of my old sites over to the new plesk, and then it refused to publish and all of the hidden pages are gone, (or l will be damned where they are).

New hidden pages are visible, but it won't publish regardless of what l try, tried contacting support, but they were no help, and also googled it, with no useful information.

So apart from pestering support again, it looks like my old Hostgator sites will not publish and all of the hidden pages are gone forever, (apart from screen capturing the lot or paying for a site that is in no mans land).

So has anyone been through this self induced mess, or has everyone just paid the odd $200 and gone over to Bluehost?

No never had this problem but Bluehost and Hostgator are both owned by the same company. You may want to look into another company that has C-panel and does what you want it to do.

Same company, groan, l guess Godaddy if l need to create a new one. Or an odd $20 a month is better than Hostgators present almost $30 for up to 5 sites.

I have contacted tech, support as normal support is a waste of time, and after screen capturing these two issues, they have said that they did replicate the issue and have put it in a high que.

Their tech support used to be very good, so hopefully that has not changed.

Don't know where those $$ numbers are coming from - If you are paying $20 for 5 sites...you must getting a new acct for each site? For not much more than that resellers acct can give you separate cpanels for multiple sites for one fee.

No, Kay, l used to have up to 10 domains or websites for $10 a month, with Hostgator. Those sites were built with Plesk, so l needed to update to the newer one in order to access or edit any of the pages on those sites.

And the newer costs are the original $10 plus the Windows shared, (or the updated plesk) which in AU currency is almost $20 a month or $30 all up for up to 5 sites, only.

If l want the original 10 or go over my allowed 5, then add another $20, or $50 a month!

So after some restructuring it won't cost me much more than l used to use, and l doubt that l will ever use any more than 5, so as long as they can fix the issues, l will stay with them.

I originally had a stand alone website or account with HG, but deleted that to save some $, (the main site was a software pack that relied on installation with Cpanal, (nightmare to install) with an attached WP site addon domain, both of which l can live without, or install again).

Looked into Godaddy and unfortunately it also costs $30 a month, so no difference apart from them allowing an unlimited number of sites.

They fixed the first site or it saves now, but the hidden pages are gone, and the original template and graphics are gone.

I quickly fixed that, but one site l built from scratch will turn into a dogs breakfast if l transfer that one over to them, and others will lose a hundred or so hidden pages with sales funnels and such.

An update apparently Windows shared allows up to 5 sites, but only allows plesk on one of them?

So the rest you have to build from scratch or use WP.

And the site l transferred over to them is having issues, (the old format and new are having a tug of war).

And migrating a site over to them will destroy any old hidden pages, (which is probably true for any hosting site, but they still should have informed their customers so we had a chance of unburing our pages.

So get a plan for 5 sites, $5 month each, then the windows shared thing $19 m, or almost $50 a month.

Although l have to have windows shared for each one, which is about $5 a month or the $19 goes up to $25 month, so yeah, $50 all up per month.

So l have been looking into Godaddy, which does have unlimited sites, eventhough they have mentioned that the server can only handle 10, so ten in other words.

And support is a phone number, which is interstate, groan.

Looks like l will keep some of my sites for nostalgic reasons, eventhough they are in no mans land, or l can't edit them.

And make a decision on which site l should stay with for the one l need to be editable.

So anyone here have several sites with Godaddy and use Plesk, or the windows shared thing?

Just want to know if it is the one account or site per plesk as Hostgator has?
