Hi! I'm trying to build a lean but attractive photography site and I'm considering the Genesis framework due to its security and high quality coding standards.

Beaver builder for the layout design.

And I'm wondering who a good American (or even better, Toronto based since I'm Canadian) VPS host would be for decent speed but won't break the bank.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've been using Rad Web Hosting for VPS for years. They only offer KVM vps, which provides dedicated resources. The drawback of KVM is the disk space tends to be less than their OpenVZ counterparts. The key is to host your server OS, database and web files on the VPS and utilize cheap storage for holding your backups...Creative file systems and disk partitions will also help you maximize your VPS disk. It may sound like a lot of work, but it's really not and will provide the best overall performance for your hosted websites and applications.

Website loading speed is a major google ranking factor, so if you want high rankings and organic traffic i would recommend the fastest loading theme right now called GeneratePress, there is a free version and a paid version. In the paid version you also get prebuild websites runing on elementor or beaver builder that you can install in one click plus some other goodies.

Now for VPS im using EthernetServers, one of their fully managed vps options. My VPS is extremely fast and their support... excellent up to now!

Thank you! GeneratePress going to look it up now--I decided to go with WPEngine after doing some heavy research. It's pricey but it covers me on security so I don't need to buy Sucuri, and it has incredible support for WP and it is one of the fastest loading hosts.
