removing code

hello
we have an old website that we plan to permanently redirect to a new one eventually
it currently has google analytics code at top of page which we don't use and if we did use it - it would moreove be with the new site in the future. Is it ok to leave there or best to remove for seo purposes? would appreciate thoughts

    It has nothing to do with SEO. So, from that point of view it makes no difference what you do with it.

    You have to remove that google analytic code form the old one because it will help in SEO purpose. You can paste that same code in new website's header file.

    Hi,
    There is no harm in removing the dead code. However it can be expanded. Not if he is throwing it away. Whenever you understand that you need an old file or folder again, it can be easily retrieved from your version control system.

    Removing Code: There is no harm in removing the dead code. Expand it even more. Not if you're throwing it away. Whenever you need it, you will realize that if you need any old features again, you can easily get them out of the control system.
