This is a new site. It only has about 6 posts. It's using a basic theme (Twenty Sixteen Version: 2.1)
It's on Hostgator's shared hosting.

I contacted Hostgator and they analyzed it by running it on that tests how fast my site loads. And you can see the poor results here

Did you try getting in contact with the Hostgator support? They might be able to help you out with it OR you can google the same question and find something useful.

    Hi Jmart!
I think it might be due to the large sized media files, try to use compressed ones. Hope you will find solution by doing so.

Yes, l am also with Hostgator, but that isn't the issue, your last two images are below 100kb, but the first is through the roof, or 650kb, since it is a scaled down PNG image, or most likely is scaled but still retains the original resolution.

So best to save it as a jpeg, and reload and your site should load up more quickly.

Cloudflare + Cache everything activated and you get a free CDN for your content.

Or at least use the Jetpack CDN for images.

Try disabling your plugins and choosing the default theme to see if that makes a difference.

Next you can look at the report here:
    https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fearlypost.net%2F

Try using WebP image formats instead of png or jpg.. you have one image there that's 656kb in size.

But mostly it appears you have a lot of javascript on your site that's slowing it down, which is caused by plugins. Fresh installations are almost always lightning fast when we first get them, its when we start fkn around with it that it bogs down.

A large volume of unoptimized images is usually the most common reason behind website slowness. High-resolution images can consume lots of bandwidth while loading. Uploading larger sized images and then scaling them down can unnecessarily increase the size of your web page - causing your website to load slowly.

You need to optimize your site's content via CDN, including your images, and codes.

Test multiple times from multiple regions, Good luck

Sometimes websites load slowly because of the server. ... The cause of slow servers usually lays with the web host. You could be having a slow site because you are hosted on a free web hosting. You are on a low quality hosting service with poor support.
