Wordpress Theme Installation Error

In am trying to install the new theme in WordPress, but I am getting this error "The package could not be installed. The theme is missing style.css fie". I am uploading the theme .zip file, but it is giving me the error. How can I resolve it?

  • Where did you get the theme? If it is a premium theme go back to them.
    It is hard to say why you are getting it.
  • Your theme file is broken. Even if you manually upload the theme folder to Wordpress, it won't work. It's an issue with the theme. Check with your theme source.
  • Make a style.css file on the theme folder. Then zip the file and upload it.

    That's it. If it doesn't solve then tell me.

  • Please Upload .zip File. Than Extract. Than Move All File In The Root Folder.

  • FYI for future readers... when you install a theme you need to make sure there are no other nested zip files, plugins, or child themes in the file you are uploading. If you open the zip file and you don't see a "style.css" then you don't have a valid zipped theme.
