Sometimes, us marketers have no time to design websites and landing pages from scratch so we'd just use whatever predesigned template is available on Wix or Wordpress or Squarespace.

However, from experience:
  1. I'm quite picky with designs, so it's kinda hard looking for the most suitable template I need, and I need to force-fit my design to the chosen template.
  2. It's also quite hard looking for media assets as good as beautiful as what's on the template. And not everyone is willing to pay for high-quality stock photos.
  3. If I upload my media assets to these pre-designed templates, they don't look as good as I want them to be.

It goes without saying that predesigned templates are not perfect but they make it easy to create a website. In most of the cases, the increase in production means decrease in quality, that is why it is important to decide for yourself whether you can put up with that or you need to build your website on your own without any assistance.

Yup, its quite hectic to work on pre-design templates specially for WordPress with strict limitation and SEO/Speed. I suggest use Atra (with elementor) quite flexible and it has templates to work. I've been using astra for couple of years now.

Being a coder, and designer I have to giggle a bit at this kind of stuff.. I think people look at "Themes" as an end result.. that is the framework you have to work with... and it simply is not true. A "Theme" at its core is a set of code that displays pages. Those pages are "Templates"... its super easy to change up the templates to whatever it is you want the pages to look like. Read here ( https://developer.wordpress.org/them...emplate-files/ ) and this is the "technical" side of creating page templates.

So you can take something like the 2021 Theme right... The SAFEST of all themes to install, but granted the least appealing, and simply create and or modify the 8 or 9 ( or pay someone to create or modify ) template pages that give the "Theme" its outward visual appearance, and have a total custom Theme, and the safest framework available.

Think about that for a moment, when all else fails and you are having theme issues, what is one of the first things you do to see where the errors may be? You switch over to the 2021 theme right? The question is then begged to be asked "why not just use the 2021 Theme framework that is the Benchmark - as the core for the theme you WANT? "

It goes without saying that templates have lots of drawbacks, i.e. they limit your creativity, so that they don't allow lots of your plans to come to reality, but they are fast to be installed. You just need to make the choice of what you need more in this particular moment: high speed or high quality.

    1 They aren't adaptable
You can't get inventive with a format. Certainly, you can add your substance like pictures and text, however that is not really a customization highlight

    2. They regularly conceal issues on a deeper level
This is a genuine issue. Many layouts look astonishing on a superficial level, yet when you dive a little in their code, you may recognize some major issues

    3. They're modest
What's more, this is their fundamental selling point. Nonetheless, when getting one you ought to recollect that you're getting what you pay for. They're modest and they look modest

    4.Clients remember them
Since suppliers of these layouts use bunches of publicizing, they additionally assist shoppers with realizing what site formats resemble

    5.They're not novel

Format organizations generally sort their proposal to mirror the need of various enterprises. The thought is acceptable, yet the execution is regularly inadequate

6.Website design enhancement may turn into an issue

Certainly, a few formats may be planned in light of SEO, however that is not generally the situation. Truth be told, you have no assurance at all that the layout you're expanding on will decidedly affect the site's pursuit rank

The reason for not looking good happens when you don't follow the pre-defined dimensions recommended by theme developers. I will suggest you buy the theme from a reputable website because they will get you 6-month support as well. So if anything goes wrong their support will alway be there for you.

There's no disavowing that website templates conquer the web design scene today. Many businesses jump into this chance because they're so inexpensive and easy to set up.

While they may be a more affordable option for custom web design, they lack the elements, functionality, and flexibility essential to maintain up with the needs of your growing business.

To satisfactorily understand why they are withered upon, here's everything that's wrong with utilizing a web design template.

    Incompatibility with web browsers
    Stifles creativity
    Limited customization
    Identical designs
    badly designed
    Questionable security
    Non-existent support
    Not responsive

Thanks for this thread. You have shared some good information so far. But I would like to ask you a question how do you promote your design on social media websites? As a starter, I started reading a PDF guide online https://masterbundles.com/wp-content...1_merged-1.pdf In this PDF users can get some good tips. I skip through it a while ago. But your suggestion is highly appreciated.

  • While pre-designed website templates can be a great way to get your website up and running quickly, there are some potential disadvantages that you should consider. First of all, many templates are designed for major corporations and do not take into account the unique needs of smaller businesses. Additionally, these same templates often come with built-in advertising schemes that may not be ideal for your business goals or budget.

If you're looking to create a custom website from scratch, then incorporating design elements from various sources will give you more control over how your site looks and feels. And finally, it's important to remember that no template is perfect - so tweak as necessary until you find one that works best for YOU!
