How do you discuss website needs with client

When acquiring new website clients, what steps does everyone take when meeting with the client when it comes to generating content for the website? My clients are mainly local to me and Iv been fortunate enough to have some easy going clients who pretty much give me full control. I sit down and figure out exactly what they do in business, what services they offer and that's pretty much it.

How much pre planning does everyone do with the client to ensure you are meeting their expectations?

I am creating simple informative WordPress sites under 5 pages. It's been working for what i do but I'm always interested in learning from others.

    We used to have a questionnaire in the earlier stages of my web design and development carrier but after that things became so repetitive that I just had a few questions which are crucial for me to plan the website and leave out the rest because in any case the clients never have the time to fill pages of questions! By the way how much do you charge for a 5-page WordPress website?

  • First It depends upon the client you approach with, we can't say this is the blueprint.
    Understand them, research about them and their website too, and Categories your doubts and needs and be ready expect the same from them.

  • What does a client want from a website? That's the ultimate goal.

    The content of the site should simply be a bridge to that.

    You can create your own quick template: ready-made questions to get details about the client's business, target audience, etc.

    After you have all the info, flip your thinking and put on the customer's hat. What is the customer seeking when they come to your site.
