Website Too Wide In Larger Monitor?

Both my monitors are set to 1024x780 but my website is too wide in the larger of the 2 monitors. One of them is 21" the other is just "15 my laptop screen.

I have checked my CSS and there is nothing that should cause this in there as everything is under 1024 px. 960px to be precise.

I'm getting more confused by the minute because Google don't even have the answer anywhere in sight.

Does anyone know why this is or how I fix it?

    What do you mean by "too wide"? Is it distorted, stretched horizontally? Or does it just take up too much of the screen for your taste?

    Is the vertical scroll bar causing it to scroll horizontally? You need it to be a little narrower than 1024 wide to allow for that space.

      Yea its 980px but still got scroller on larger monitor. I'm confused by it due to eveything being inside 980px.

    Are you using different browsers on the two computers? Different versions of the same browser?

    Is one computer displaying a cached version of the page - a version from before you make your final tweaks?

    Yeah, you have to take into account the side scrollbar and a few gremlins.

    A safe width is usually 950px, or 900px to be totally sure.
