Getting a Raw file

Hi forumite,

I designed a site and lost the raw file through my laptop. I used fillezilla ftp to upload. Any solid advice how to get my raw file back as the site needs updating and little tweaking??

Any help??

  • I'm a little unclear as to what you mean by a "raw file" - are you speaking about a binary file?

    You should be able to specify a binary transfer in Filezilla and download it. Or am I missing something too?

    Perhaps if you told us what the file is it would help us assist you.

      What I mean by raw file is the original files i uploaded on the site. From Index - Contact with all the images etc. How do i give u d url since it is not allowed here?

      If you have experience with any reliable ftp software that can facilitate the download, please let me know.

  • Any good FTP program can do this. Filezilla has been mentioned (and you already have it), I prefer Win SCP but either one should work fine. Just highlight all your files and folders and copy them all to an empty directory on your local hard drive.

    If you need to post a URL and are restricted due to your post count you can do so in this format:

    mysite [dot] com

    Do you actually see all the files when you log in with Filezilla? If you don't then perhaps you should check to see if the FTP account you are using has sufficient privileges.

    Out of curiosity, who are you hosting with?
