Anyone with any coding knowledge: What kind of coding is used to create this homepage?

I am trying to build a niche site and am trying to change the home page in order to keep visitors "entertained" and give them something to do. I didn't know where to start though so I googled some websites that got awards for their design and came across Health Search Engine and Free Medical Information - Healthline (not my site).

Now, I absolutely love the home page design and I would love to replicate it on my own site and put cpa stuff in the search sections, the problem is that I have no idea how this type of site is made. I have no idea what type of code is being used and I don't know how to access the source code to get a better idea.

Anyone have any ideas?

I looks like it's based around a CMS (Content Management System) , you could build something similar with Joomla, Drupal or even WordPress. This site may indeed be a custom design.

If I were to try and emulate this design I'd probably use Joomla (personal choice, Drupal would work as well) and look for a good template here:

By using a CMS you'd have the code for the Search function built in, you could use plugins to add functionality and you could add new pages and articles easily using the administrator interface.

currently my site is on wordpress. I have the flexibility 2 theme installed. Any idea if it would be possible to get my home page similar to that (simpler if need be) without losing the flexibility theme?

My reason for wanting that style is because I am currently reading through "the edge" and it suggested that by adding more functionality and things to do to your home page you will keep visitors much longer and get return visits (seems like a common sense idea but it never dawned on me) and that layout seems to be perfect. I just hope I can implement it without removing everything I have on my site already.

Flexibility 2 is a very versatile theme and you could probably emulate a lot of the features of this site with it, without having to dump your existing content.
