Should I get a hostgator Reseller package

I have the Hostgator Aluminium reseller package, and I'm using it to host a number of sites without any problems. I highly recommend it.

First of all I don't recommend buying your domain names from the same company where you buy web hosting. For peace of mind keep them separate and edit your own name servers to point your domains to the web host or a 301 redirect to your affiliate links.

I see the $300 per year is part of the Hostgator reseller plan called Aluminum during their 20% discount program SPOOKY until November 1, 2008. I think that's a great plan, and it does allow unlimited domains with a lot of disk space 24GB, and a lot of bandwidth 250GB. You have access to Wordpress plugins as well as config files to fine tune Apache.

There are other reseller programs but they are setup differently and have different features, so I have to ask what are you looking for in a reseller package? You have to consider not all of them will have cpanel or fantastico or WHM. Some host providers have their own reseller management methods, price caps on how much you can charge, and upfront monies that must be paid to enable additional features. If you can give us more ideas about what you are looking for?

Hostgator is awesome.
Pricing is great, support is insane, and the extensive feature list and stability is overal fantastic.
I recommend them all the way!
I also purchase my domains from namecheap, and get them over to hostgator with ease.

I agree, host gator is awesome for the most part.

One of my friends tell me that they use the host gator package for like $9-13 and make a new hosting account for each of their websites. He stated that he does this mainly from a cost-analysis prospective. If the site is not going to make him $15 a month then he knows that it is not worth it.

However, I did have the pleasure of being able to use a portion of one of my friends dedicated servers. Oh boy..I think that would be the way to go for what you are doing. He uses www hostmysite com. I believe to have your own dedicated server runs $300-$400 per year.

The server was blazing fast and you don't have to worry about ever running out of bandwith etc..

We used godaddy to regiser all of our domain names...it seems to be the easiest, although I have not found any name registrat sites to be very user friendly.

I'd definitely recommend Host Gator for a reseller account. Their uptime is good and support is 24/7.

eBoundHost basic plans include WHM for free, so you get reseller hosting for the price of shared hosting.

Can't recommend Hostgator highly enough, and if you're doing multiple or many sites the basic reseller package at just $24.95 is a steal.

I have used 6 different servers in my short site building pratice. (yes everyday is practice and you will NEVER master it - Test,Test,Test) and there are only two hosts I will use any more.

Hostgator is #1 and also one of the the least expensive for what they offer. Also its' Linux based. (The web site builder package comes with the Baby and above sized hosting packages. Hint: [NEVER use an ASP(microsoft server) if you can avoid it. It limits your bandwidth differently, if it gets busy, it slows everyone down because it restricts(chokes) the bandwidth to adapt.] Linux and Mac servers adapt to the bandwidth needs on a mili-second basis which keeps everyone a lot happier.

If you are running media heavy sites, I highly recommend serverlogistics.com.

They serve up The BEST Macintosh servers (possibly in the world and yes they will handle Windows and Linux files) and they Really Rock! If you think I'm kidding try going there and watch the load time of any page they host (I dare you try and find a FASTER server, If you do find a faster server let me know, I want to see it! ]
ServerLogistics is more expensive but look for yourself, if media hosting and speed are the need I would go there. Support is amazing too. They host people like Sony and Honda (or did and probably still do. I haven't checked in a while.) Have you ever seen the Sony site? OMG its huge! They also offer highend packages that are some of the best I have ever seen (best bang for the buck)

I say no to hostgator. no no and no. Ive been running websites on various hosts for years, then finally got my own dedicated server. hostgator has a lot of down time, most of their servers are over packed with accounts, since they host a load of adult sites, most of the IPs they have are spammy, and many times mail is blocked.
go to bluehost.com fabulous service, too much space, clean fast and nice hosting account.

$300 a year is for the reseller account Linda. This means that you can host other people's websites for them and earn monthly payment to offset this charge, potentially allowing you to profit each month. Hostgator is a great option for this.

Bluehost don't actually do reseller packages although if you don't need a reseller account their hosting is a very good option as there's practically no limits to usage and it's a good price. If anyone does want to take a look here's my link - Bluehost

I've been looking at slicehost recently, I don't know your technical expertise but you can set those up however you want if you know how so you might want to check it out. (Need to confident with linux and other tech stuff)

I can't say enough good things about HostGator, they rock! Their live help is astounding, they always respond right away and even the toughest problems get resolved ASAP. I'd have to give them 10 out of 10 for customer support, and it's rare for me to give 10 out of 10 for anything.

No secrets here, hostgator are great. Top notch support service, that's the most important thing to have.
