Migrating websites from one CMS to another

Hello my friends,

Would anyone care to please comment on the idea of moving a website created originally with one CMS platform and then re-publishing it using another. My client wants to know about this concerning Drupal and Joomla for now, and not Wordpress.

So beyond the reasons for ever having to do this in the first place, what I need to determine:

Is it possible at all? In either direction?...no matter which was used to begin with?
And if it is feasible, how difficult would it be to accomplish (comparitively speaking)?
