I purchased and installed EVP back in October, and that early version was installed easily enough with the video instruction provided. The product's been upgraded since, and I'm sure installation will continue to be straightforward.

I'm using it with Amazon S3, but I believe the new version allows you to use your own hosted videos. Not sure though. I'm really happy with the way it works with S3, and I'm extremely happy with the product. It works great and made my project go much faster.

Normally for streaming video online with a self-hosted
video player (ie. not YouTube, et al.) you convert the
file to .FLV format. That's what I do. I don't use
EasyVideoPlayer though, so if it has the ability to
play other formats I wouldn't know.

You can upload MP4, mov, wmv and other file
types to YouTube, but they have massive server
farms that convert the video to FLV., and that's
what you see when it streams.

Short answer to both of you is you probably need
an FLV converter to use your videos with common
players that stream video to internet users.

FLIX is what I use. Works great and not expensive like
most other FLV converters due to the company
owning the patent on the VP6 codec technology.
