Cheaper hosting...

I'm looking to get a host for a little project I'm going to undertake, and I know TONS of people recommend hostgator.

However, their price seems a little high for me because I really just want to do html primarily, and I certainly won't need tons of bandwith or fancy features. Primarily, I just want no ad's.

Google gives a plethora of hosting options, but I got burned before with cheap hosting and nailed with hidden fees and terrible... well terrible people running it.

So, does anyone have recommendations for very inexpensive "bare-bone" web hosting?

Thank you.

  • I have to say HostGator is worth what you pay which is cheap already $4.95 a month, you can build unlimitted sites, and never have any down time. I lost a site and content for buying cheap land lame service before. Go with a proven provider that has good rep, your call.

  • Hosting is free (paid by Google) if you know how to set your domain up as a 'custom domain' (their term). It's not difficult, just a few simple hoops to jump through.

  • Hi,

Try Fatcow.com. They have hosting for $3.67 a month and they give you $75 worth of vouchers for Google ads and Yahoo ads. So you actually make money on the deal.
