I'm looking to get a host for a little project I'm going to undertake, and I know TONS of people recommend hostgator.

However, their price seems a little high for me because I really just want to do html primarily, and I certainly won't need tons of bandwith or fancy features. Primarily, I just want no ad's.

Google gives a plethora of hosting options, but I got burned before with cheap hosting and nailed with hidden fees and terrible... well terrible people running it.

So, does anyone have recommendations for very inexpensive "bare-bone" web hosting?

Thank you.

i agree hostgator is expesive, but their service is amazig. we have bought their hatchling hosting plan. also their are a lot of other host providers whose price start at 2$/ month and they are good as well.

do refer loudable.com for a list of host providers

            I use site5.com

good price, not over crowded servers about 130US a year for as many sites as you want.

Oh, and the support is awesome.

I have to say HostGator is worth what you pay which is cheap already $4.95 a month, you can build unlimitted sites, and never have any down time. I lost a site and content for buying cheap land lame service before. Go with a proven provider that has good rep, your call.

Hosting is free (paid by Google) if you know how to set your domain up as a 'custom domain' (their term). It's not difficult, just a few simple hoops to jump through.

    Hi,

Try Fatcow.com. They have hosting for $3.67 a month and they give you $75 worth of vouchers for Google ads and Yahoo ads. So you actually make money on the deal.

    Cheers
