Need help installing Ulimate Footer Ad

I got stuck with UFA's manual and haven't been able to install it to my website. I got to the point where a MySQL database needed to be created, but just got lost after that. So I created it and what comes next? In the manual it says that all UFA's folders need to be ftp-uploaded... to where?? that's where I got lost.
Soooo... if anyone out there happens to know what the following step is, I would really appreciate any pointers.

    I haven't installed it in quite a while, but from memory you just upload the "UltimateFooterAd" folder to your root folder.
