Hey guys,

So I just tried to install wordpress using hostgator and fantastico.

Everything seemed to go fine, but after the installation is complete, when I check the site, I'm presented with a page titled "index of". This page contains a long list of links. Stuff like,

cgi-bin/
fantastico_fileslist.txt
fantversion.php
index.php
license.txt

The list goes on for a while.

Why am I being taken the this page instead of the default wordpress blog for my site? What have I done wrong?

Thanks for your help!

Andrew

You say everything went fine - did you have to click through 3 different pages? That looks like you are seeing a directory view and you show index.php which should bring it live like you would expect.

Did you select to have wp installed in a sub-directory? Did you have the install info emailed to yourself? If so maybe check that email to see if there were a change you didn't realize that you made.

I have installed wp both manually and using fantastico and have never gotten what you have with a completed install. If all else fails you are at a point that you can trash and re-install.
