Where can I get the step by step help I need?

Hi Warriors,

I totally SUCK at anything technical. I can't afford to hire someone.

And...

I believe my biggest stumbling block is I don't know how to go from having a free WP theme downloaded on my laptop to getting it on my website. Host4profit is my host.

My head is bursting with ideas, I have about 6 blogger blogs and WP free blogs that I have stopped using because I can't get the plugins I want/need installed unless I host them on my own domain. Tonight I spent about an hour trying to upload All-in-one SEO on a WP site I have with my own domain............I can't get past first base and get prompted that my user/password are incorrect - but they are not.

I think what I am looking for is a detailed video of how to do this, and also transferring a blogger blog to a WP theme and uploading onto my site as a subdomain.

I am tearing my hair out and getting nowhere fast.

If anyone needs some high quality articles I am willing to do a serious trade here.......

Or, as I mentioned, just directing me to some lay language instructions would be a great help. Something that says more than 'set up your SQL database'!

Try Googling what you need. like searching Wordpress video tutorials. Read and implement. Trial and Error is the key. Learn some coding from w3schools. Internet is Big so don't limit yourself. Stop and take and deep breathe. You need to decide what is best for you.

If I am understanding this correct, you need help uploading to your site, correct?

First things first, are you trying to do this with an FTP client, like filezilla, or with cpanel (or similar, or course) type file manager?

that one ain`t gonna happen, as blogger is a totally diferent platform than worpress, and blogger only works as hosted on blogger.com, there ain`t a package to download and istall on your own server.... it is like mixing apples with cell phones... (ok, stupid combination but.... they are different)

i am very much interested, maybe we can have a further chat on this... i don`t need articles, i need a book. but not like a ghostwriter... i`m gonna record myself on what i want to say, chapter by chapter, and have somebody actually putting it into better words.... and i`m in no rush. what do you think?

Hi Ruth,
To upload the new theme to your wordpress site is quite simple.

1. Log into your wordpress dashboard
2. On the left hand menu, 'Add New Themes' - in the Appearance Dropdown
3. Under the heading 'Install Themes' are some text links. The second one is 'Upload'
4. Click on the Browse Button to select the WP Theme that you have downloaded to your laptop. It should be in Zip Format.
5. Once selected, Click Install Now
6. Click Activate. - View Site and the theme should now be installed.

I wanted to post a link to a quick video tutorial, but because I'm new in Warrior forum it wouldn't let me. :-(

w3school.com is really a great and helpful website regarding web coding either in HTML or JavaScript. If you visit the given website I hope you found a lot for your creations and developing.

I can do that part, I just can't seem to upload the plug ins I need and am getting no response from my host when asking for help.
