hey warriors i got a few questions about wordpress.

i may just be over thinking this but ill shoot anyway, i appologize i just started using wp today.

1.) so my wordpress site is all set up and what not but in order to get to my site i have to type in - Healthy Assistance to land on the home page. Now do i have to set up an index in my hosting to get it to go to this site by just typing in Home to Healthy Assistance.com

2.) I want to change my sidebar links but im not sure im doing things correctly. If you look at the sidebar where it says "categories" "archives" and so on, i want to change that text and add links under it. How do i change the categories on the side and add links under it?

3.) last question, when you click on the link "uncategorized" under the category section on my side bar it brings you to a fresh page that still has the current theme. How do i duplicate that link but change the subdomain.

thank you in advance, it means a lot.

    Hi there,

Given that you've only just set this up and you have no content on it yet, I think the easiest would be to remove your WordPress installation and then re-install it in your root domain. (At the moment it's set up in a sub-directory).

Setting it up in your root domain will result in the front page of your blog being displaid when you type in 'http://healthyassistance.net'.

Note also that you should upload the contents of the WordPress folder from your PC, not the folder itself.

If you're doing a 1-click install then they'll ask you where you want it installed - and select your root - i.e. healthyassistance.net.

I wrote a WordPress manual a while ago and it's available online - it may be helpful:

    1. The previous answer is spot on for this one

    2. Unless you have some pre-installed code from your theme, your sidebar is managed in WIDGETS. If you click on WIDGETS > EDIT in your dashboard, you'll see a long list of possibilities. On the right side you'll see SIDEBAR. If you click on it, the drop down will give you the list of WIDGETS currently enabled. Drag and drop to add or remove or move the WIDGETS. If you click on the WIDGET under SIDEBAR, you'll be able to edit the title. Don't forget to click SAVE after changing the title.

    3. The UNCATEGORIZE you clicked on is doing a search of all your posts that are in that category and showing them. Since you do not have any content yet, it turned up as a blank page. To add static pages, click on PAGES > ADD NEW

There are many more details provided in the link provided by the previous commenter.
