      Watch the ENTIRE video in Internet explorer...

      Click "Tools" > "Internet Options" > Browser History "Settings" > "View Files"

      Then find the video you've just watched.
      Hint L If its from Apple, it'll be a quicktime movie.

      Copy it, then paste it onto your desktop.
      Now you can play it, edit it, or upload it to your server/youtube.

      Whatever.

        Hi otherwhirl

        If you choose a trailer and then choose which size to watch and wait for the video to start playing and then you can then check the source code (view source options in browser menu) and look for a
        Code:
        <div class="moviePanel"
        set of code and you should find a link direct to the video which is most probably an mp4 and you can use this link in your embed code.

        Cheers

          Ummm Darren...

          This may sound a little dumb on my part, but it doesn't seem to work on the Apple Trailers site. Any chance you could illustrate what you suggested?
          HTML Code:
          hxxp://trailers.apple.com/trailers/magnolia/maliceinwonderland/

            Hi otherwhirl

            ok when you browse to

            Code:
            http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/magnolia/maliceinwonderland/
            you are greeted with a screen that has something like this on it.

            a box in blue with watch now written on it.

            When you click this you choose your size and type of trailer which then loads in a kind of lightbox effect. It is here that you look for the source code .... ahh! my bad it doesn't show the source code for this pop up box. I am viewing it in safari and I am using the developers "inspect element" function to see the details.

            OK.

            here is the link to the trailer I found

            http://trailers.apple.com/movies/mag...land_r640s.mov

            I will see if there is a better way to get info tomorrow

              Yo Darren,

              I'm Mac user as well (Not a developer or anything as you probably can imagine..) but is there something I can use/download on the Mac side?

              I'm much more comfortable using my Mac than my PC (I hate PC's!)

              Yeah, i don't want to have to download the files, i'd much rather embed, but if it get's down to that , I may have to go that route.

              Looking forward to what you come up with.

              OW

    Hi OW,

    The only way I can see that you can do it is to obtain the URL of the trailer you want and use the following code to embed this into your web page. There are several ways to embed things so if you let me know where you are embedding it and I can give you more specific instructions.

    Code:
    <OBJECT classid='clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B' width="640" height="385" codebase='http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab'>
            <param name='src' value="http://trailers.apple.com/movies/ifc_films/lookingforeric/lookingforeric-tlr1_480p.mov">
            <param name='autoplay' value="false">
            <param name='controller' value="true">
            <EMBED src="http://trailers.apple.com/movies/ifc_films/lookingforeric/lookingforeric-tlr1_480p.mov" width="640" height="385" autoplay="false" controller="true" pluginspage='http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/'>
            </EMBED>
    </OBJECT>
    The bits in Bold are to be your URL of the video.

    To get the URL from trailers.apple.com. choose which video you want to get and look for the "watch now" drop down menu and right click on the link of the size you want and right click and copy the URL and then put this URL into your embed code and voila.

    If you need any more help then you're probably better off contacting me.

    Regards

    Darren

      Hi DarrenHill,

      I've found your solution for embeding apple trailers, but I have a problem, that controlls do not show up in the player and the video starts to download to the browser.

      I have tried to remove duplicated "controll" and "autoplay" strings, but that doesn't change anything.

      the video itself starts playing after I doubleclick on the image.

      You can find the problem at my test page microgamy.com/ if it is not solved by then.

      Thnx

    You can just IFrame it. That's the easiest way.

    Just get the source code of the video, right click on page > select view source > Find embedded video location.

    Then on your site, put the embedded video location in IFrame tags, <iframe></iframe>

    You should also include an 'original source' link right below the video, within the IFrame if the video itself doesn't link to the original.

    So it might look like this,

    Code:
    <iframe>
    trailers.apple.com/videolocation34098234.mp4
    <a href="http://trailers.apple.com/videolocationpage">Original source = apple.com or whatever</a>
    </iframe>
    However, I'm not 100% sure if that's the correct iframe tag, <iframe>,it might be something slightly different. Try the method above and see if that works.

    Let me know!

      Hi,

      I have tried your code, but no success. It's possible I don't know how to use it. Then I've searched for other solution and now it works fine. It's similar to your code. I just had to set the width and height and movie source.

      I can not paste it here, 'cause my post count is to low, but if anyone is interested I can mail it.

      Thanx for your help.

      Rgds
