I guess you could browse some reviews. What web hosting are you looking for European or US based?

Well, you will probably get a hundred replies....but I like Go Daddy to register, and HostGator to host.

Ther is a post here somewhere with 2010 promo codes for GoDaddy that will save you money.

I have also heard BlueHost is great for hosting.

I have been using bouncweb and I find their service excelent, never had any issues with them... they are not a domain reseller though, I believe that both namecheap and godaddy offer domain reseller plans that will usually link with your site billing/setup software (phpcoin / account lab plus, etc.)

I also like godaddy.... Although sometimes I don't appreciae all the emails I get from them, you can buy some extremely cheap domain names and hosting packages.... Iv also started the process of Having email addresses with my domains.....

I also have my main site with hostgator... This is pretty easy to use.... I had a problem
Originally when they were charging me twice for the same
Hosting account.... But that's sorted now... I
Also prefer the support u can get from
    Host gator....

If I had a do over I wouldv gone with godaddy right away

As other have said before, it is always better to register domain separately - directly from domain registrar and from hosting company buy only hosting service. My favorite domain registrar is Name.com. Very professional company with affordable prices. As for searching for the best web hosting company, there are countless avenues you can pursue, like:
    WebHostingGeeks
    Poll: Best Web Hosting Service?
    WebHostingClue
However, do your research. Look for mentions on forums, twitter... It is always good to choose a bit longer, but to choose wisely.

I steer clear of godaddy , they can decide to take your domain from you if
they deem what you are doing as questionable. This has happened to several
people in the past. Namecheap is the one I go with.

I've had them do it to me and they want you to pay a fee to get it back!!!

I moved everything I had from GoDaddy!!!

    Depends what domains you want.
I use Godaddy for domains and Hostgator for hosting, but .uk domains are a lot cheaper through 1&1 internet

Just a tip. I've got all my domains and hosting plans from Regal Web.

They are very affordable and the service is very prime. Check it out and see for yourselves.

I could suggest you name.com for buying domains, and hostgator for hosting. I preffer to buy domains on my own, plus you can use promo codes, not sure can you do this when you're buying through host company.

I prefer hostgator over all companies. Godaddy is absolutely rubbish for blog hosting. Bluehost is good. Netfirms does have $4.95 .com, .net, .org domain name registration (limited to 5 per account).
