It doesn't really matter what CMS you use, or how you choose to implement it yourself. The only thing that matters is content. Nobody will care what runs in the backend.

You should focus on clean design and high quality content. Even hosting your blog at something like Blogspot or Tumblr is more than sufficient.

well with twitter here and many social networks already here, we had an idea to have text messaging on individual posts (BUT) have it capable of sending messages on a coupon posting or sale or tickets. we got the idea from my yearbook a site that has almost everything but felt just by adding something such as this it would give the user another way of passing info and we feel that is what twitter is doing now but without the advertising to people in a niche field. We thought of making it a social network?? Or shopping or info site---any imput would be appreciated

I like the idea of adding some social network connectivity into your site. It sounds like you are focusing on tickets - so of course links to popular ticket sites would also be great.

A forum to talk about tickets and share about ticket buying experiences would help you create community on your site.

Definitely offer a shop with maybe team products from Cafepress.

I noticed when going to your site that is has "Craigslist" as a title. Maybe your own title (Like TicketSeller or another name) might give your site more of a brand appeal. Good luck on your sites!
