how to integrate a squeeze page into already existing blog?

Got a blog with hundreds of blog posts over a year old, ranks very very well for some very very heavy keywords.

Organic ranking is great, conversions suck, I am learning better copywriting skills but...

1-I like the idea of building a list to make more money and am just starting that

2-The product owner for one of the main products I promote just sent me a very sweet looking squeeze page that will snag emails to build the list and should dramatically boost conversions once ppl are in the sales funnel.

My question is, I've never messed with anything like this before, so if I upload this squeeze page to be what comes up for my main root domain url, how will that interact with the rest of my blog posts and rankings? Right now I blog posts that come up when you view the root domain that are of course keyword rich for the keywords I am ranking (well!) for.

I did email him about it but figured I would pool the knowledge here as well in case he is not tech savvy or have a tech guy willing to help me.

Thanks

If I understand correctly you have been given a static HTML file to use as a squeeze page and want to place it on your domain without interfering with the existing blog?

I suggest you create a directory on your host for the squeeze page files and place them there - make sure not to name the directory the same as one of your existing pages or posts. That way you won't get in the way of your existing blog.

If you need help or clarification let me know.

      thanks alot bill

yes i dont want to mess up my whole blog, i have hundreds of posts contributing to my high ranking i dont want to lose

the front page i dont mind losing, its not the best copy as im still learning so swapping the blog post i have on my main domain with the squeeze page copy would be fine, dont mind losing that one. rankings wouldnt be affected much if at all for very long

if i create a new directory though to put this squeeze page in,wouldnt it be seen via only the domain.com/directory url vs domain.com ?

im looking to put this baby up so that domain.com comes up as the squeeze page, but the rest of my blog posts are still accessible thru their direct links and still have their interlinking siloing going

      thanks
