Does anyone know is xsitepro has the faciity for people to make comments and for those comments to be moderated before acceptance. I know wordpress does have this but can't get an answer about xsitepro.

    Xsitepro released a separate piece of software called XCommentPro (see website of same name) earlier in the year. It is $97, but if you are planning on buying Xsitepro2, maybe you can get a discount.

        The software can be bought from the xcommentpro website.

        All Intellimon affiliates have the right to resell the software.

        primek19 is right that discounts are offered on other products for XSitePro buyers, I'm not 100% certain about xcommentpro though.

    XCommentPro is good except for the fact that you are required to have a php extenstion on your pages if you want to use the captcha functionality.

    If all your pages already have a html or htm extension, you are out of luck and will be wide open to getting your comments spammed out.

    Otherwise, it's a nice tool.

    If you use it, just make sure you use the option to pre-approve new comments before they are displayed.

    Kind of a bummer it was set up that way.

    I hope Paul rethinks this in the future because it really is a nice piece of software that fills a need.

    Here is a transcript of my touble ticket when the captcha started throwing errors:

    QUESTION: Two Issues:

    1.
    Adding the session start php tag to my pages produces a "Headers already sent error".

    2.
    Captcha produces the error: "There was a problem with the captcha". Something like that anyway.

    Please advise on these two issues.

    A forum for xcommentpro would be nice.

    Couldn't find anything for this at that xsitepro message board.

    Can I just confirm that you have added the code in to the 'Other' > 'Global Scripts' > 'Before Anything else' section, and not on the web page its self?

    If you have, I'd like to take a look at your site. Could you export your website and attach it to your reply. If the export file is greater than 5mb could you upload it to link removed instead?

    To export:-

    1. Open XSitePro.
    2. In the Project tree in the left hand column, select the website that you wish to export and right click.
    3. Select "Export".
    4. Save the exported website as link removed.

    If you have uploaded the site to rapidshare.com it will generate a link similar to;

    link removed

    When you have this link could you please paste it into the reply of this ticket?

    **NOTE** You may see an option on the Rapidshare website to 'Send download link via e-mail'. Please do not use this option, as the email comes to us from rapidshare, it is impossible to track which ticket it is attached to.

    I followed the directions given for a NON xsite pro site since the site in question is not an xsite pro site.

    I suppose I should have mentioned that.

    Anyway, putting the session code for step 1 into the header of a webpage makes no sense if it needs to send headers on it's own.

    Of course it's going to fail!!!

    Here are the two ways that I tried - according to the instructions that xcommentpro gives for step 1.

    First way:

    Second way:

    Spot on! Be aware that the web page name needs to end in php for this to work (ie index.php) and php to be activated on the server (check with your web host provider, but it usually is).

    It just seems funny to me that in this day and age of being able to display php in .html pages, that any software would be created requiring that the page extensions HAVE to be .php

    Just my humble 2 cents.
