Help. I need the quickest and least technical way to create a website

Using WordPress with a free theme is probably the simplest way I know. Depending on your host, you probably have a one-click install option. It's really user friendly. It's my specialty so let me know if you need help.

Just be sure to stay on top of the updates or your site will get hacked. ( wish i didn't speak from experience

Hey Candido,

I would second that. I absolutely adore wordpress. Its easy to customise, design, keep fresh and add content. Google loves them. They are great to easily syndicate your content to social networks and bookmarking sites.

What are you wanting a website for?
What will be its primary purpose?
Are you intending to update often?
How are you planning to get traffic to it.

I agree with everyone. If you really want something turnkey, you can try wordpress.com, but the best solution is to purchase some cPanel web hosting with a program called Fantastico, you can install Wordpress, Joomla, or Drupal in one click.

For themes, check out some good Wordpress theme companies like WooThemes.

... the least technical approach would be a fully hosted solution with an easy to use assistant.

Wordpress is the easiest. It's as simple as it gets. Just get some cpanel hosting (hostgator, blue host etc.) and use the fantisco function to easily install wp. and you're sorted.

Besides wordpress, You can always outsource creating the website for You, a big advantage - if You hire a proffessional designer You can end up with a good site, disadvantage - requires money

you can use wordpress, joomla, dupral or any other cms system out there. if your really new you could use a online site builder service but these are generally not the best way to go. i would recommend using wordpress or joomla since they are not very hard to use and you can get great results from them.

Right, but i think Joomla is only good if he has got a organization, Joomla is not seo friendly. Quite same with Drupal too now.

Wordpress is getting better each day though, it's recommended.

I agree about joomla being a pain to do SEO on, but for drupal your way off, drupal is very easy to do SEO on. Drupal is used by LOTS of big named sites so you know its good ... I'll just name one The White House .

If you just want to get right to it I would agree with everyone on wordpress. If you don't have a problem with evil Windows hosting DotNetNuke cms installs form many host's cpanel with one click and your ready to log in on the front end and get started. I like DNN as you can keep it very simple or with less coding than might be thought, do some pretty complex things. You can build with css, html, and flash seamlessly and if you don't want to do any of that you can find a skin or module already written for just about everything you can think of. Also, no matter how simple you keep it you will have full role-based user management.

I'll offer two different methods here...

Method 1. Yes, I agree with the WordPress option as suggested by almost everyone else here. It is very easy to learn and has a huge amount of online resources that you can quickly Google to find answers to any questions you want to know. However - don't be fooled by the initial "ease" of use - WordPress can become a technical monster as you get sucked into understanding more of it's capabilities on your journey of discovery.

Method 2. I'm not an affiliate of this product, but have used it and it could be an alternative for you if WordPress is not your style. WYSIWYG Web Builder 7 at WYSIWYG Web Builder is a very visual based website builder and is only $39.95 which is a very good price for what it can do. You can visually go to town with your design only limited by your imagination - or you can use one of their templates to build on. They have a 7 day fully functional trial.

Both methods above take completely different approaches to building your website.

WordPress is going to be good for non technical creation of your website if you are happy with existing templates (Themes) and are happy to just change minor elements such as images, and color schemes as allowed by a particular Theme (there are thousands of free Themes to choose from and they are easy to install and activate). Just be prepared for the inevitable slide into the "technical" side of WordPress as your knowledge grows.

WYSIWYG Web Builder 7 is going to be good for non technical creation of your website if you are very visual and want to just be able to put anything anywhere you want it to be based on your own designs or based on an existing template provided by the software.

In terms of dynamically updating your website with ongoing content in the future - Wordpress would be a better choice.

In terms of just uploading a created website that requires little to no updating over time in the future, and you prefer the flexibility to visually create anything - then WYSIWYG Web Builder 7 might be worth a look.

There are many sites in the web that can really help you in building your own site. Like freewebsitebuilder . co. uk. They have the list of top ranking website hoster. It is also free to make in the sites. They also review the websites on who is the best in website hosting. I hope this really help you in making your own websites.

I suggest you work on microsoft frontpage and get the foundation of your website ready or sompler: you can use MS word, once you've done that host the site. And btw wordpress is a blog software so make sure you're clear about what is in your mind. Good Luck
