Hi,

I'm thinking about adding a wordpress blog to my site, or simply add an xml-file as RSS feed.
How do I know how many readers my blog have, and is it possible to measure by just having an xml-file?

Thanks.

Best regards,
Thomas

Where do you host your site? At any good (heck, half-decent ) host, you'll have traffic software (such as AwStats, Webalizer, Analog etc) to tell you how many readers your blog has

As for the XML-file, do you mean an XML sitemap? If so, check-out the WordPress plugin "Google XML Sitemaps". If not, what do you mean by "xml-file as RSS feed"?

If you are using Google feed burner then it automatically shows the number of readers you have

Actually I was thinking about just making an xml file as the rss feed. On a lot of sites when you click on the RSS logo, you visit an xml file.
I use Google Analytics on the rest of the site. Is it possible to incorporate that into the xml file somehow, or how do you otherwise track it?

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Thomas

Create an account at google analytics, then copy the code given and paste in the editor. Alternately you could just get a google analytics plugin, it will solve the job for you.

cystat-a WP plugin, your rss feed subscribers are the tools which can give you a figure on the numbers of readers your blog has. And if you want to know about the traffic your blog is attracting then you can have free Google analytic.
