How do they do that?!

I've brought up a browser, with MSN as my homepage, and they have an ad for a car on the top right corner of the page. As the page loads, the car drives ACROSS THE SCREEN, DOWN and BACK UP INTO THE AD location. Then the ad displays whatever it was promoting at the time. Showing off a new model or something.

My question is, HOW did they do that? Is that simple flash? or something more complicated? Are there examples of this somewhere on the web, and WHAT IS IT CALLED? Where do you think I might be able to:

1) find out about how to do it.
2) find someone who could create something similar for me.

Thanks!

It's definitely flash, these are on numerous sites including Yahoo as well. I find them annoying, but yes, they do catch everybody's eye.

It's both flash and javascript. You can have it open on start, or on mouseover, which is done through the javascript. The rest is flash.

Basically it's a full page normal ad and all they did was make a transparent background. Some will have a white background or whatever the occasion is will be related.

Unfortunately, I only know enough flash to create a very minuscule animated picture. Otherwise I'd take the job

I found a tutorial, but can't post the link as I haven't made 15 posts yet...it's from an adserver site so may not be exactly what you want, but should give you something to start with.

If you search ad speed (which is the adserver)...then navigate through their help area as follows.

Help Center > Manage Your Account > Banner, Richmedia, and Text Ads

    Expandable or rollover Flash ad

Also, Kirupa and actionscript.org have good forums with people who specialize in flash programming.
