Dear Warriors,

do you think google "eats" better a site done with a well known cms like WP or Joomla or do you think it is still better do a web site manually from zero?

Of course i mean only in SEO terms.

Thank you

In terms of SEO, it doesn't matter. What matters are links and the relevance of your content to the search term.

There are some CMS advantages, such as built-in RSS feeds and plugins to optimize SEO, but the same thing can be done by hand as well, just not as efficiently.

I agree with bgmcaw, it doesn't matter. But building through a CMS can be much faster, more efficient, and easier to administer.

Lets discuss your example just for a minute.

wordpress - has a permalink structure that can make your URLs nice and pretty. Search engines like this kind of stuff. Even though google says not to change your URL structure, ranking shows otherwise.

Joomla - has a TERRIBLE url structure. Your going to have to install some kind of search engine friendly plug in to get your joomla urls to look like wordpress.

Between the 2, wordpress is going to be a much better option.

But even then, consider drupal before you go with joomla. Ever few large sites use joomla, and there is a reason for that.

Start off with wordpress, or something like it, and dont look back. When to start having to manage hundreds of pages by hand, your not going to have time to do anything else.

Hand coded site is fine if your never going to change anything. If your going to have 3, 4 or eve 10 static pages talking about a local business, then hand coded sites are fine.

If you want a dynamic site that your going to be updating often, going with a CMS is your only real option.
