Portal Managment System?

Hi All,

I am making a portal and I have designed my website already in html/css.

My questions is, is there such a thing that I can specify a editable part of the website which I can specify then I can create some kind of form to which I can just simply add more content with pictures easily without having to worry about html and stuff, something like a portal content management system?

Sorry if its unclear.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Your looking at some form of Content Management System.

    For portals, I'd recommend something like Joomla or Drupal.

    Check out http://www.opensourcecms.com/ for some online demos of different systems before making your mind up.

    I have joomla but im not entirely sure how to use it, right lets say I have created a page on my website and i want to make parts editable for adding stuff throught the future.

    How do I make certain parts of that editable with joomla?

    Iv looked everywhere at how I could do this and it seems you can only use the joomla templates.

    Can you help please?

      Joomla 1.5 does not have this enabled by default. It is not built into the core content management system software (but will be part of the upcoming Joomla 1.6 release).

      In the meantime, this extension may achieve what you are looking for.

    Thanks for all your help guys, I dont think Joomla has what im looking for.

    1. I have a website and design live online which i created using fireworks and dreamweaver.

    2. I have installed Joomla on my server

    3. I have a page which I will be adding many entries of buildings and I was wanting some kind of CMS where i simply fill out a form and it adds it to that page for me.

    I hope this makes it clearer to what im looking for.
