I am looking for a FAST, AMERICAN freelance web designer/developer to make quick and frequent edits to my websites on a regular basis.

I have tried all the freelance sites and I only get bids from people overseas who are 1. SLOW, 2. working abnormal hours, 3. difficult to communicate with.

Where do all the AMERICAN freelance web people get their work, and where I can I find and hire them?

I need my stuff put on the highest priority at all times, I am willing to pay for this. Most of my edits are quick and simple.

Oh, they're out there, they're just not typically on a forum like this or on rent-a-coder type sites. They usually get business locally, though word of mouth or nepotism.

We have been using GoDaddy / Wild West for one of our sites and a couple blogs for a long time, and they actually have excellent communications channels, right in the USA. Now their technology may not be the top tier you're looking for, but they have nice sites with and without many of the latest bells and whistles to at least help you get something professional-looking up and running, with regular maintenance, too.

      Their contact info (no affil):

About Go Daddy | More About the World's Largest Domain Name Registrar

      Business Address

      • 14455 N. Hayden Rd.
        Suite 219
        Scottsdale, AZ 85260

      Phone Numbers

      • Domains: (480) 505-8899
      • Fax Number: (480) 505-8844
      • 24/7 Support: (480) 505-8877
      • 24/7 Billing: (480) 505-8855

Elance is also a good place to hook up. Specify what you are looking for, and that can help.

In general, the majority of us will be working in mid-sized corporations either as contractors or employees making a salary of roughly $60-80K a year ($30-$50/hr on contract) plus basic employee benefits (health insurance, 401K or ESOP, etc.) if they're perm employees or work through an agency.

Most people or small businesses seeking freelance web designers/developers aren't willing to pay anywhere close to that. Typically, they're willing to pay about 1/3 to 1/2 of that. And, of course, in most cases, they get what they pay for or they'll be competing for the developer's time with other clients.

If you are looking for someone to do quick fixes with your site(s). I can def. help you out with this. Just send me a message on skype: blainjones

But as it is said above, we usually work locally for upwards of $50 an hour. Obviously depending on the part of the country you are in. I live near Chicago, so it pays fairly decent.

You can find them in craigslist. Select your city. It's in 'Service' - 'Computer'.

Hi swick, this is Nicole Miller from vWorker.com (formerly known as Rentacoder.com). Have you tried using the site's search engine? The search engine allows you to query workers by:
    • Country. Limit your work force to individuals in a specific location.
    • Time zone. Avoid delays by soliciting coders in your own area.
    • City. Find coders in a specific city. This is a great option should there be a need to physically meet somewhere.

Adding additional criteria will help you locate an American programmer with specific skills and ratings.

Try Odesk.com - Just select US to narrow down your search.
For simple tasks, I've been lucky to find good providers on Fiverr.com - $5 per task - You can't beat it and there is tons of good talent there

Majority of the freelancers need reference to get the work. They generally get business locally, through word of mouth or nepotism whichever suits them.

I believe that if you want a job done properly, then do it yourself. Basic website edits can be learned very fast and will save alot of time and money waiting for others to do it. You can also make it exactly to your spec aswell.
