[Wordpress] How/where would you store/link to PDF files for visitors to download?

Hello,

I'm putting together a website that will require me to display writing samples. As a result, I'm going to hopefully be using .doc or .pdf files to accomplish this.

Is there a way to store these in wordpress, either in the wp-content > uploads folder or in some sort of sub-directory, to allow them to be downloaded?

I've tried a google search on this, but the results only yield information on plugins related to other irrelevant things regarding PDF files.

Thanks!

-Mike

I just ftp the pdf to my domain name (or you can create a folder) and then link it into my content. So it will be accessed through mydomainname.com/mypdf.

Just click on the "Add Media" icon in the post/page editor and upload it that way. You can manage the uploads from the Media sidebar menu.

      Thanks for the responses.

I'll probably just use the upload option directly in the post. I suppose there's no need to really worry about much since I'm only planning on uploading samples and not a product.

right, your products, valuable items, will be delivered using alternate methods but since this is just a sample there's no reason to worry about how visible the link is.

If your visitor will view it on their browser, then upload it as a pdf file. Or else add the pdf into a folder, zip it & upload via ftp. Then, visitor will download and view on their computer.

    Hope it helps.
