Hi,

The embedded MP4 video takes forever to load on my computer for this page
ihost-websites.com/PAULKOKO/video.shtml. It's size is 120MB

How can I get it to load faster..convert it to a flash file?

Please advise.
Thanks

The issue is with the metadata, you need to move it from the end of your file to the beginning. This will allow your video to start playing instantly. I'll be happy to do this for you if you don't know how...

Just PM the direct download link for your file. I will edit it and send it back to you...

    Good luck!

120 MB is pretty hefty- there are some great free utilities that can help you.

    1. You can convert the file to flash or many other formats online, here:
Media Convert - free and on line - convert and split sound, ringtones, images, docs -

    2. You can compress the file using an application like this (pc and mac):
Video Converter Software. Convert avi wmv mpeg mov & other video formats

    Good luck!

While the file size is hefty, that is not the reason why the file takes a long time to start playing. If you compress the mp4 you will loss some quality, if you have the .avi or source file you may be better off compressing that into another format...

However once you move the metadata your 120MB mp4 file will play instantly. The file size won't matter because the file will buffer. So your users will be able to watch the file as it downloads (matter of fact they won't even know that it is downloading in the background as they watch) If you don't move the metadata they you will have to continue to wait for the video to download near 100% before it will play...

There is no way around that if you are using MP4 - unless your video editor moves the metadata automatically. Offhand I know Adobe's Premiere Pro will move the metadata for MP4's and I think Camtasia does also...

      Warmly,
