Is my site too cluttered?

I don't think so at all. When I went to it, I was expecting a lot of clutter. I just see a nice, clean 3 col. layout. Nice site.

I'm not a web designer so looked at your site as a first time visitor..

Personally I think there is nothing more off putting than a sight cluttered with graphics and links. It's distracting.

But I think you're site 'does what it says on the tin'. It's clean, simple & uncluttered.

Thank you both for your comments. I guess I've stared at the site for so long... I see it in a different way now. I'll keep moving forward.

My task today is to finish the post author footer for the Base Guide section. One step at a time!

1 thing I noticed though, the helmet in your logo looks like a WW2 nazi helmet....military people might pick up on that!

Nice design.

One suggestion:
In order for someone to give you their email address it helps to formulate a value proposition.

"Subscribe" is no value proposition. "Instant access" is.

"Tips by email" may imply a tiny bit of value. "Tips to save you money" implies more value.

Hi, I just wanted to chime in here. I know you already have your answer to your original question, so I won't bother repeating what everyone else said. (Although I do agree with them.)

What I wanted to say was this: I think you have a GREAT idea for a site. My husband and I are former military, and this would have been something that would have been so, so helpful while we were active duty.

I realize the site is new, but I hope that you continue to build and develop it. It is something that could become a real service to our military personnel (and yes I have family members that might be interested in your site.)
