Question about use of H1 on Wordpress

I'm using SEOpressor to optimize my WP site and for each post I go into I get the message that I should add
,
and
tags with my keyword in it.
My confusion is this:
Each post has a title. When I add the
tag to the title my post gets optimized, i.e. I get a higher score, BUT as a consequence in the sidebar widget for Recent Posts the same post title appears BIG, and that's not what I want.
So, instead I add the
tag within the post, repeating the title. That's not what I want either, because then the post title appears two times as a result. I can change the wording of the title for the
tag of course, but that looks funny to having both the post title and the h1 title displayed in large font.
How do you search-engine-optimizing-wordpress-bloggers properly use the
tag?
Appreciate the help,
Johanna
