Do I learn Wordpress ??

Hi guys I have my site up ok

I used Xara web designer to construct it - which is fine but recently I was introduced to wordpress and was impressed on how quickly a site can be made up and I was wondering what you guys would suggest - Learn wordpress because obviously the SEO would be better or stick with XARA which I already know how to use ???

I think I already know what you will say but just a bit curious - What sort of learning curve can I expect with wordpress

    after looking at your xara website... it looks like your planning on selling web design services.. so i suggest you learn as many skills as possible..

  • Yes I strongly suggest everyone learns how to use, develop for, and set up Wordpress. It is quickly becoming the standard for virtually all types of websites.

    I apologize if I am out of line but is this site for real? I only ask because the more I look at it the more I think its a parody.

    • hahaha a parody what do you mean ? - its not live yet and im not advertising it - basically its just an idea i am tinkering with

  • Ok, I was just wondering.

    How long it takes you to learn Wordpress will depend on what you already know and what you want to do. If all you want is to install Wordpress and used existing themes you should be up and running within the hour.

    If you want to design your own site you will need to learn html/css/php. Though the php you need to know is minimal since you can copy/paste most everything. If you run into specific problems feel free to ask and there are many here who are very helpful.
