Fan Pages

Hey all,

Does anyone know how to do, or know of a place where I can learn to, create a landing-page style layout for my Facebook fan page? (Example: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Jonathan-Budd/100425548965?v=app_4949752878&ref=ts AND http://www.facebook.com/fp.norbert.orlewicz?ref=ts

Those are a couple examples to illustrate what I'm talking about. From observation, I see that they apparently make an additional tab in their fan page, somehow set the person to arrive on THAT tab when navigating to their page, and somehow integrate a landing page into it.

Anyhow, as you can see, there are plenty of "Somehow"'s in that above observation. I would appreciate it if someone could help me out.

  • The default tab that people land on is in your MANAGE PAGE>EDIT PAGE>WALL SETTINGS TAB...see the image here:





    This is only available for FAN PAGES and not PROFILES...

    The rest of it comes down to building the content of the page in the Facebook Markup Language (FBML).

  • you can use Facebook markup language or FBML to create custom layouts in faceook.

  • From what I read recently facebook changed their policies on being able to set your landing page as default. You either have to have 10,000 likes or work directly with a fb manger to get it approved. Basically they want you to spend a bunch of money advertising your fan page to approve you. I'm getting around this by having friends suggest my page and purchasing suggestions. Hopefully I will reach the 10k barrier in a couple months.

    • though it is necessary to have 10,000 likes or direct approval by fb, i have noticed that the users land on your custom page when they open your fan page before liking the fanpage but when they like your page, they land on wall everytime when they open the fanpage.
