Hello,
I have a website hosted through Wordpress and on Googles SERP there is a vertical bar in front of my websites name and I can't figure out get rid of it. I know it is a small detail but it is driving me crazy any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Could you post a link using the word 'dot' in place of the . so that I could have a look at what you mean?

Look in between the <title>...</title> in the <head> section of your website source code. Make sure there isn't a " | " in the title.

Avid Reader is right: there's a | in your title tag. you should be able to remove it in your General Settings panel, Site Title box.
    <title>| Walking Off Weight</title>
