Ok I have a website with Prostores (an e commerce site) and have over 3,000 products. What im looking to do is create an RSS feed so subscribers can get new products and info via the feed. HOw do I create a RSS feed for a non wordpress site? I saw one place but was like $40 for the software. Are there not any free ones to use to create?

BTW I dont know a lick of XML or any other language to write it LOL

Thank you for helping if you can

I'm sure it would be a tedious task to write your own.. i think moving to wordpress or some sort would be more beneficial... especially having 3k products on plain .html pages would be a huge hassel!

Most RSS feeds are generated automatically by the blogging software or content management system used. If you have written your own application to do this, you have to generate their own food.

having 3... html pages and making the feeds is not so easy. i feel it's better to move the website to WP or integrate blog so that it becomes easy and there are lot of RSS feed generates that support them.

This is a trivial task for php to spider your site and give
you whatever output you need. Go to Rent a Coder (or
whatever they call themselves now) and get something
custom built for your exact requirements.

It would be a fairly simple matter to convert an existing data feed, produced directly out of your Prostores database, into RSS format.

You might still need to outsource a bit of programming, but I think it would be faster and more efficient to create your RSS feed this way.
i will check it out...Emailed there tech support but that is a JOKE!!!!! Tried the html2RSS as well but it worked for a few links but when you have over 3,000 pages I may be to late to build a feed ;(

Hi, I use a static site generator for my blog (alexanderle.com) and ran into this problem.

I decided to created an RSS feed from scratch and it works great! Pretty easy to automate too if you have access to the template system or database. Editing the XML is not that difficult at all - if you can write simple HTML, you can edit a RSS XML file.

Check out the guide at alexanderle.com/blog/2012/04/11/create-an-rss-feed-from-scratch.html !
