Hi everyone.
I have been debating on which of these two web design programs I should use. Both of them seem really good but since I have not used them I don't have the money to invest to find out. Has anyone used these programs and what makes one better than the other?
Thanks for your help!

I've been using XsitePro for a few years now. It is truly designed for the Internet Marketer. Version 3 is coming out soon. If you get the current Version 2, I think the Version 3 upgrade is free. It has many more great looking templates as well as a bunch of new features.

What I do is use a combination of Wordpress and XSP. It depends on the subject and type of site I want. I can whip out a mini site in XSP in about an hour. A great looking sales page might take 30 minutes. You can enter your affiliate links simply by right clicking and insert.

I've used both. Site Build It was my introduction to web site building and it got me hooked. The site itself did very well and I learned a lot. It's fine for people who want just one or two sites but too expensive if you want to build a lot of niche sites. So after a year I just transferred my site to my own hosting and saved several hundred dollars.

I also have XSite Pro and it's a great program, easy to use and makes really nice sites. I think it's very good value if you are going to build your own sites. I don't use it as much as I thought I would though. I have found that I can buy really good themes and content for sites here on the forum so that is more cost effective for me.

So it really depends on exactly what you want to do with them and why you need them. Neither are essential for creating affiliate sites / niche blogs.

Both of these have become very helpful and relevant at some time in the Internet Marketing and SEO history, however, imho, nowadays with the advent and power and advances in development of the Wordpress CMS & Blog platform and the army of availlable powerful plugins and developpers and amazing themes these have become completety irrelvant as the WP CMS platform is completey free and you can find thousand of free tutorials on the web also. Moreover, using these old technologies you are stuck with proprietary systems, as on the other hand WP is OPEN Source.

    Best regards,

XSitePro is flexible. Its just a software to run Web sites quickly. You find your own web hosting, purchase your own domain name. You get a large number of basic models, and marketing XSitePro there who have developed hundreds of templates that you can buy at a reasonable price.

Sorry I keep saying XSP is a proprietary system and you have to BUY it, WP is Free and Open and a thousand time more flexible. Can't be compared.

I've never used Sitbuildit but have run across criticisms of the expense. I have used XSitePro for several years and find it to be extremely user-friendly, even for those who are just getting started. It's possible to build quite elaborate sites without ever knowing anything about html. I offer the option of an XSitePro design in my web design business but I don't push it. I, too, believe the way to go is with the web based platforms like WordPress. It's very inexpensive to have someone load and configure a premium theme from Woo or StudioPress and the results look fantastic. Plus, and this is the most important part, you can then do all of the updates yourself without ever having to pay someone (like me) again.

Bottom line - I have only positive things to say about XSitePro but I really recommend you expand your search and check out WP.

    Best of luck to you!

    Karen

oh, and I always thought that Site Build It was a sort of IM tutorial environment... which of course, makes it the ideal choice if you are totally new. Not only can you make a site, it teaches you the basics and actually helps you to get results. Then move on to Xsite or Wordpress when you are comfortable. Does that make sense?

          Hi

Note: Site Build It is not a CMS system, nor is it Internet Marketing in the traditional sense.

SBI teaches you how to create a highly trafficked, long-term, evergreen business.

If you are planning on making any significant amount money, it takes hard work and it takes time. With SBI, you get all the tools, the training and the process to make it happen, right out of the box and you never pay for any of the frequent upgrades. Why then, would someone migrate to something else?

The most common reason, in my experience, is because people do something like this:

They use SBI like a site builder and skip the process and training, they don't use the tools or use them properly. They don't research their niche properly up front, or they don't persist, then jump around from one thing to another. Often they tend to be gullible to get rich quick schemes and end up spending a lot of money buying every product under the sun - winding up broke, frustrated and nowhere.

Many people have multiple sites/businesses with SBI, but it's best that you pick one concept, research it thoroughly, put in the work to get it going and making money. *Then* pick the next concept and build that. People who jump around a lot don't like or do this. Jumping around is a great way to work yourself in the ground, wind up frustrated and make little money.

Think about it - if you were offline, how many businesses would you start at one time? Desparation can lead it throwing sh** at a wall, I guess. Do it enough and something is bound to stick. :p

In regards to blogging or building a site: Blogging is good if you have a newsy theme and are prepared to make the commitment and make regular updates with it. And Wordpress is a great tool for blogging. But when it comes to building a business, it's the wrong tool for the wrong job. Most people don't take the time to learn the difference. Word Press is open for any developer to create plug ins. Often times, those who push Word Press have ulterior motives: like a plug in they are trying to sell.

WP and SBI are not apples and apples because out of the box, SBI blows WP away. In order to get WP up to where SBI is, you have to add plug ins, get it configured and deal with all the technical back end to get it to work together (or pay someone else to do - and if you *do* get it free, that someone plans on taking your money at some other point in the pipeline). And by that time, WP is no longer free.

And why would you want to build a business on "free" or "cheap" anyway? What happens when you've spent hours and hours on your business and someone hacks it? Or how much does cheap hosting really cost when you actually begin to achieve success and exceed bandwidth limits? Or the amount of traffic you get slows your load times down to a crawl? That *is,* of course, assuming you get traffic.

But this thread isn't about WP (always pay heed to forum signatures and who is selling what, when viewing the trend of a conversation ). It's about SBI or Xsitepro (which ain't cheap or free, either). Again, don't compare CMS to SBI. SBI steps forward and moves you up the search engines (many, many SBI sites are in the top 1% online). Other companies don't try to do that, nor do they provide verifiable proof of success. They just sell you software.

Competitors love to sew seeds of doubt or drop innuendo and falsehoods about SBI.

          *Sigh* Oh well, job security.

I don't use xcite but I had SBI for years and it is a good product and the training materials are well done but they can be overwhelming.
It's expensive and is good if you plan on a singular focus on building a couple of sites.
I personally moved away from SBI since I started with affiliate marketing and was building multiple niche sites. The migration of my main site from SBI was problematic because the SBI platform is somewhat unique and doesn't migrate to different platform too easily. If Xcite is proprietary, I'd guess you can plan similar issues if you decide to migrate.
I only use WP now and use ithemes Backup Buddy to quickly backup and clone sites so I don't have the issue of spending excess time to create a new site and install plugins.
I looked at the XcitePro site and thought it was interesting that all of testimonials are from people who said it looks nice and "I bought it." None of them are from satisfied users who came back with their experiences using it. That gives me cause to wonder...

SBI is good if you have one (or 2) sites that you have decided to focus your entire time on that will be the bulk of your income (talk about major authority sites). Xsitepro is perfect for many small sites. The first one is a system in one. The second one is simply a site builder software. You can't really compare the two.

SBI has a lot of things going for it including a keyword researcher, brainstormer, tons of tutorials about anything related to building your site and bringing in traffic and making money. Xsitepro is just like Wordpress, a platform where you can build up your site.

I tried out SBI but I had to cancel my membership actually just this month. Don't get me wrong, it is a GREAT system for anyone who is starting out just now and doesn't have a thousand other things on their plate going.

However I have already lots of sites that I'm building with XSP (love this software, btw!) and while I'm busy with all this, I just don't have the time to sit for hours at no end and learn the heavy and cluncky way of how SBI constructs the sites (either in their very old fashioned block builder or using html files that you are uploading). The other day it took me practically 3 hours to trying to figure out how to upload the include files (which were uploaded but were not showing on the server). You don't have control of the cpanel or ftp at all. Everything is handled by them.

But like I said, if you're just starting out and you want an entire system going for you which almost guarantees you results, SBI is the best way to go. You will practically get an entire handholding on bringing your own site to authority status and to great earnings in about 1-2 years.

Oh and their forum is simply top notch, I have to give it to them. No nasty, superior and off-hands replies like the newbies are used to in other (cough) forums...

I have tried both and invested time and money in both and can tell you that they both suck. The only thing you need is wordpress and it's free!
