Need advice on used CONTENT/ARTICLES

Hi guys,
My work colleague has a blogspot/site, with bags and bags of articles, he has agreed to sell me his articles, and is willing to somehow block is blogspot from public view.
Q. This may sound silly , but will the articles be classed as fresh content or copied content:confused: when added to my site.
Q. Can one block a websites content/artcles from the public without shutting it down properly:confused:
Q.will Google penalizes me knowing the articles have been published before:confused:

    After the articles are blocked, you could always try submitting one of the articles to Ezine and see if they accept it. If they do then your good to go for the rest of the articles, and if they deny it, then you will not have wasted a lot of time and can figure something else out.
